USYSA PROFESSIONAL CURRICULUM
HOUSTON ATHLETIC FC (A Non-profit Charitable Organization) is a professional youth soccer club specializing in the development and advancement of youth soccer players. HAFC implements a centralized training model based on the guidelines set forth by the UNITED STATES YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (USYSA). HAFC uses licensed professional trainers at ALL LEVELS of development from U5 through U19. All HAFC trainers carry a minimun "D" level license from the USSF. HAFC also incorporates licensed team mangers at all levels. HAFC offers a Pre-academy program for levels U5-6 along with a Developmental Academy from U7-10.  The HAFC Youth Academy program is designed to develop the skill sets of all players (Boys & Girls) while playing small sided 4v4 format games. HAFC programs focus more on individual fitness, technique, skills, sportsmanship & character building rather than teams, scores, games, standings, play-offs & championships. The central point of this program is that technical skills training during the early years is key to a soccer players overall development. The HAFC developmental program is designed to prepare players for competitive levels of play starting at U11 should they choose. HAFC also offers recreational play for players who enjoy the game but are not in pursuit of the highest levels of competition.

DIVISION ONE & COLLEGIATE RECRUITING
Starting at U11, HAFC provides access to competitive levels of play and gaming leagues. If players choose this path they will participate in a try-out & evaluation process. U11 competitive teams are each assigned a professional trainer as they begin qualification for Division One. U11 competitive teams receive a minimum of two sessions per week starting from this point forward as they play small sided 8v8 format games on intermediate (90x60) sized fields. Starting at U13 competitive teams will transition to large format 11v11 games playing on full sized (120x70) fields. Starting at U13 training sessions for select teams increase to three sessions per week (two are field sessions and one is a classroom tutorial). At U13, competitive teams will apply for DIVISION 1 / SCL / RPL levels of play depending on qualification results. This status, fully supported by licensed team managers and professional training will extend through to U18 and the completion a CLUB SOCCER career. At the U16, HAFC offers players access to collegiate showcases as the process of promoting advanced players begins.
