TRAINING DAYS & GAMES
U5-8 PLAYERS TRAIN ONE DAY EACH WEEK (M OR W) / SESSION  6:00-7:00PM
U5-8 PLAYERS TRAIN TWO DAYS EACH WEEK (M & W) / SESSIONS A 6:00-7:00PM
SMALL-SIDES GAMES & TOURNAMENTS: SATURDAYS ONLY

TO CREATE A FUN AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN TO DISCOVER THE GAME OF SOCCER WHILE DEVELOPING A PASSION TO PLAY AND IMPROVE THEIR GAME. HAFC OFFERS OUR PLAYERS ACCESS TO THE RECREATIONAL PLAY AS WELL AS THE HIGHEST COMPETITIVE LEVELS RECOGNIZED BY THE STATE OF TEXAS. 

YOUTH SOCCER TRAINING GUILDLINES:
HAFC YOUTH SOCCER PROGRAM UTILIZES TRAINING METHODS AND GUIDELINES THAT ARE RECOGNIZED BY THE UNITED STATES SOCCER FEDERATION (USSF) AND THE UNITED STATES YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (USYSA). OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE HOUSTON DYNAMO ENSURES THAT HAFC SOCCER ACADEMY WILL BE IMPLEMENTING THE HIGHEST DEVELOPMENTAL STANDARDS AVAILABLE FOR AGE APPROPRIATE SOCCER TRAINING.

DEFINITIONS OF LEVELS OF PLAY

RECREATIONAL - U5-10 DEVELOPMENTAL

  • Introductory level of play offering players a safe, fun & non-competitive environment to discover soccer.
  • Available for U5-10 teams.
  • NO tryouts or evaluations are held.
  • Teams play small sided format games on Saturdays.
  • Rosters are small ensuring maximun practice and playing time. 
  • No emphasis on scores and standings.
  • All players play equal time.
  • NO travel required for games.
  • Players can play with their friends.

DIVISION 1 QUALIFICATION - U11-13 COMPETITIVE

  • Recognized as the highest level of qualification play in the State of Texas.
  • Available for U11, 12 & 13 teams.
  • Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability.
  • Teams qualify for the competition based on performance in the previous season or by their performance in the District Qualification Tournament held during the summer.
  • Teams play a district-wide schedule which requires extensive travel and commitment.
  • There is no play time requirement for players on a Division I team.
  • Teams have no home field affiliated with club. All field sites are neutral

DIVISION 1 - U14-19 COMPETITIVE

  • Reconized as the highest level of play in the State of Texas.
  • Available for U14 and older teams.
  • Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability.
  • Teams qualify for the competition based on performance in the previous season or by their performance in the District Qualification Tournament held during the summer.
  • Teams play a district-wide schedule which requires extensive travel and commitment.
  • There is no play time requirement for players on a Division I team.
  • Teams have no home field affiliated with club. All field sites are neutral

    SUPER 2 - U14-19 COMPETITIVE

    • Second highest level of play in the state.
    • Available for U14 and older teams.
    • Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability.
    • Teams qualify for the competition based on performance in the previous season or by their performance in the District Qualification Tournament held during the summer.
    • Teams play in a district-wide schedule which may require extensive travel and commitment.
    • Coaches must make every effort to play every player on the team at least one-half of the game unless unable to do so due to a player's illness or for disciplinary reasons. In such cases, the coach must inform the referee and opposing coach that a player will not be participating.
    • Limitations are placed on the number of 9-year old or younger players allowed to play up to a higher age / level of play.
    • Teams have no home field affiliated with club. All field sites are neutral.

    DIVISION 2 - U11-19 COMPETITIVE

    • Introductory level of competitive play.
    • Available for U11 and older teams.
    • Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability.
    • Teams are generally scheduled with other Division II teams within their club or two or three clubs from the area limiting the amount of travel required.
    • Coaches must make every effort to play every player on the team at least one-half of the game unless unable to do so due to a player's illness or for disciplinary reasons. In such cases, the coach must inform the referee and opposing coach that a player will not be participating.
    • Limitations are placed on the number of 9-year old or younger players allowed to play up to a higher age / level of play.
    • Teams have a home field affiliated with Club.
